Sharing these experiences opened up so many doors for me and Katie. We began helping other young people with cancer in our community. We published articles. We shared our story with others. I learned how to manage social media and got a part time role managing an account for a national coalition of 100+ member organizations that were all focused on improving the lives of young adults with cancer. Katie graduated from graduate school and decided to use our experiences to dive into the oncology world full time. In 2014, she began her career as a survivorship navigator. She connects patients (who have completed medical treatment) to support and resources, measuring and improving their quality of life along the way.
